Lawrence Page obtained his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1964 and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1965 where he has practiced in the areas of natural resource law and corporate and securities law to the present date. Through his experience with natural resource companies and, in particular, precious metals development, Mr. Page has established a unique relationship with financiers, geologists and consultants and has been counsel for public Companies which have discovered and developed producing mines in North America. Specifically, he has been a Director and Officer of Companies which have discovered and brought into production the David Bell and Page Williams mines in Ontario, the Snip, Calpine/Eskay Creek and Mascot Gold Mines in British Columbia, as well as the discovery of the Penasquito Mine in Mexico.

Mr. Page is the principal of the Manex Resource Group of Vancouver which provides administrative, financial, corporate, corporate finance and geological services to a number of public companies in the mineral resource sector. He currently serves as a director of six public companies, including Bravo Gold Corporation, Duncastle Gold Corp., Bravada Gold Corporation, Quaterra Resources Inc., Southern Silver Exploration Corp. and Valterra Resource Corporation.

 

Mahesh Liyanage, CA

Mahesh Liyanage joins the Company with over 15 years of experience in public practice and industry. He is a Chartered Accountant and has headed finance and audit teams nationally and internationally. He started his career with BDO Burah Hathy Sri Lanka and held a supervisory role leading audits in manufacturing, banking, and natural resource industries. Before moving to McDonald’s Fiji as head of finance he served as controller for a garment manufacturing company which catered to the North American market. In McDonald’s Fiji he pioneered the implementation of accounting systems and revitalized office structures, document flows and inter-department relationships in order to achieve excellence and profitability. Mahesh Liyanage is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia as well as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Society of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and Fiji Institute of Accountants.

Ms. Page obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2000 and her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2004 from the University of British Columbia and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2005. Ms. Page currently serves as a corporate secretary to several public resource companies in the minerals sector.

Mr. Hean is currently Chief Financial Officer of Quaterra Resources Inc. (QTA on TSX-V and QMM on NYSE-Amex). Previously, for 5 years he was CFO for Manex Resource Group and had held senior management and executive positions with Bank of Montreal as Senior Vice President and Managing Director responsible for financing in the natural resources sectors in North America and with J.P. Morgan of New York, primarily financing junior oil and gas companies in the United States. He is a Director of Sabina Silver Corporation (SBB traded on the TSE) and a number of TSX – Venture companies. He is the current Chair, Bill Reid Foundation Services Ltd and has served on numerous other not-for-profit Boards, including Outward Bound and B.C. Children's Hospital. Graduating from Simon Fraser University (B.A.) in 1973 and from the Ivey School of Business (M.B.A.), London, Ontario, in 1975, Mr. Hean, graduated from the Institute of Corporate Directors, Directors Education Program (ICD.D) in 2006.

Mr. Eyton is a Chartered Accountant and currently Chief Financial Officer of Penninsula Merchant Syndications Corp.  Prior to his appointment at Penninsula he was a partner with Topping Eyton Partners, a public accounting firm in Vancouver, a private practice from which he has recently retired.  His professional career encompasses depth in financial, regulatory and compliance matters across many sectors including mining.  Mr. Eyton graduated in business administration from Lakehead University in 1967, obtaining the designation of chartered accountant in 1971 and was elected to the fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of B.C. in 1983. Mr. Eyton also completed the Institute of Corporate Directors program in 2008 and was awarded the designation of ICD.D.

Dr. Roger Scammell , BSc (Geology), PGeo (Ontario)

He has 40 years experience in the mining and exploration industry in North America, México and Guatemala principally with epithermal gold/silver, polymetallic base metal, and nickel and coal deposits.  He was the Country Manger (México) for Teck Corporation and its Mexican subsidiary, Minera Teck S.A. de C.V. from 1992 to 2002.  Under his direction, Minera Teck discovered the 72 million tonne San Nicolas volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit in Zacatecas, México and the El Limon gold skarn in Guerrero, México. From 2004 until December 2010, he was initially the Vice President of Exploration and later President of Scorpio Mining Corporation and its Mexican subsidiary Minera Cosalá.    During this time, he was responsible administration and execution of the exploration, development and initial production of the Nuestra Señora polymetallic silver mine in Sonora, México as well as supervising the construction of the 1,400 tonne per day flotation mill. 

R. Dale Janowsky, QC

Director Janowsky recently retired after 44 years in the practice of corporate and commercial law.  He has extensive experience in corporate reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.  He has provided legal guidance to boards of directors at all levels of government.  As well, Mr Janowsky has served on provincial and federal boards and numerous societies.

Nazlin Rahemtulla

Nazlin Rahemtulla is currently the Human Resources Manager at Gowlings, Vancouver office. Previously, she was the Chief Operating Officer of  Weiler Smith Bowers Consulting Structural Engineers; Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of The McLean Group; acted as Investment Advisor for RBC Financial Group (RBC Dominion Securities Inc) and served as Manager, International Services for RBC Global Private Banking. Ms. Rahemtulla has over 14 years of experience in the financial industry and has a Diploma in Business Administration from St. Godricks College in London, England and earned a Fellowship from the Institute of Canadian Bankers ("FICB") through Simon Fraser University.

Jean-Pierre Colin

Jean-Pierre Colin has been an investment banker since 1980 and provides corporate strategy consulting services to CEOs of mining companies. Mr. Colin was Director & Head of Corporate Finance at Octagon Capital Corporation , a senior investment banker with Desjardins Securities Inc., executive vice-president of Deacon Capital Corporation, and senior vice president of Richardson Greenshields of Canada Limited. Mr. Colin was also the founder of JP Colin Securities Inc., a securities dealer focused on corporate finance services to public mining companies. He is a Member of the Bar of the Province of Quebec and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario, a Civil Law Degree from the University of Ottawa and a Certificate in Comparative Law from the University of Manitoba. He is the former Faculty of Arts Co-Chair of the Waterloo Advisory Council of the University of Waterloo, former founder and President of Caratax Management Ltd., the manager of public flow-through share limited partnerships, and a former director of numerous other successful public mining companies in Canada including Wolfden Resources Inc., Pelangio Mines Inc., Virginia Gold Mines Inc. and NIM Management, the manager of over $730,000,000 of flow through share funds. Mr. Colin was appointed a director of Valterra on November 15, 2011.  He also serves on the board of Premier Gold Mines Inc.
