Southern Silver’s growth strategy is to focus on the development of quality assets, in significant mineralized trends, close to infrastructure. With this in mind, the Company is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of high-grade precious/base metals properties within North America. The high exploration potential of Southern Silver's projects combined with a low market capitalization, a commitment to the joint venture business model and low operating costs create an excellent opportunity for future corporate growth and an increase in shareholder value.
Southern Silver’s newly acquired silver-lead-zinc property Cerro Las Minitas is located in Durango State, Mexico. At over 109 square kilometers in size, the project features a large land position within the prolific Faja de Plata (Belt of Silver) of northern Mexico, with historic production and resources of over three billion ounces of silver and additional potential for future “world class” discoveries. The Company has completed an airborne magnetic survey and a ground based IP survey. A 3,000 metre Phase I drilling program began in early March of 2011.
Also in Mexico, the Minas de Ameca project in Jalisco State represents an outstanding high-grade copper/gold/silver exploration opportunity on 131 square kilometres of claims located along the western margin of the Sierra Madre Occidental terrane. Geological reconnaissance has identified several strongly mineralized, copper-rich breccias located at volcanic-intrusive contacts and numerous structurally controlled, quartz-hematite vein systems which occur along an 8 km long mineralized trend extending southeast through the Magistral 1, El Magistral and Quila properties.
The Company has advanced exploration on multiple highly prospective targets within the 8 km long mineralized trend throughout 2008.The company also has highly prospective projects with world-class potential located in both Arizona and New Mexico: In Arizona, Southern Silver’s Dragoon copper/molybdenum property is located in an area known for large copper porphyry deposits approximately 90 kilometres southwest of Tucson, Arizona. In New Mexico, the company’s Oro project is a 1,150 hectare, gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc property with excellent potential for discovery.
Southern Silver Exploration Corp.: A low risk junior exploration company with substantial upside potential.
